My heritage is mostly Dutch - no Italian at all. By chance, I found myself with half a dozen Carcanos & realized I knew nothing about them. Over the period of several years, I became friends with big time collectors in Italy, bought everything I'd never seen or heard of before & shared information. One thing led to another & if I may say so without sounding vain, I put together one of the better Italian rifle collections in the country. Comrade Publisher got wind of the Italian forum here & after reading a couple of the detailed posts, he invited me to write a book on the topic with him. My 4th book is at the printer & I've just dived in on #5 which relates to Japanese WW2 militaria. Now if I could just sell fiction! SW |
