On the first pic they are Eritrean member of the PAI (Polizia Africa Italiana or Italian Africa Police) armed with the Beretta MAB38A with the folding bayonet.

Just one pic this time but it fits I here. A formation passes in review at double quick march. SW

These were captioned as Italians in Spain during the civil war there. However, they could also be Italian "volunteers" (conscripts) who were ordered to Spain as part of Mussolini's aid package to Spanish Nationalists before they left Italy.

In either case, it's very unusual to see Italian military people armed with Vetterli rifles after the Carcano was adopted. SW

WW1 sniper pic. Italy had very few legit sniper rigs in WW1. Many used were privately owned by officers who had bought them in Austria before the war. In WW2 Italy had no known sniper rifles. SW

Balilla Fascist youth drilling with scaled down rifles. At the age of 17 or so, they could graduate to actual cavalry carbines in 7,35 caliber.

Children could join the fascist youth group as young as age 4! Talk about "as the twig bends, so grows the tree"! SW
