Spotted this on a German auction site. Italian M91 bajonet made by Terni and converted to... I'm not sure what. I don't know if saw backs were illegal, but I've read you didn't want to be taken alive with one in your possession. But it's not a saw *back* - the saw teeth have been cut into the blade side. Seller also says it's a relic from Austro-Hungarian forces. Strictly my own opinion, but I feel it's an artifact from fighting along the Isonzo. The saw blade could have been used to cut firing ports through snow & ice. Strictly a theory, that. I really wanted it, and my main man in Budapest bid for me. But you need long arms and really deep pockets to outbid Germans so no luck. Which is probably just as well. There's no proof it's what I think it is, and it could have been dummied up to get max money from a common bajonet. I'll leave the pics up hoping a lurker will spot it and log in with the story. Kanister - have you seen one like this before?
