That Carcano, M-91 Mosins, long ol' type 99's, Swiss 1911's, Styer Manlicher, and a Persian Mauser are in my thoughts.....

Well the rifle arrived today and I LIKE IT!! As my 9 year old said "gee dad does have to be that long of a gun"

At some point, it was refurbed - thus the MM bolt. Bolts were only numbered the 1st couple of years except for Roma.

It must have either led a quiet life or was used mostly after Italy adopted solenite gunpowder. I'd say the latter as there was always a chronic shortage of rifles.

You just don't see tubata marked rifles after they changed from ballestite powder. SW

The non Roma serial number on the bolt means its one of the early bolts and should be the split lug extractor type which is the kind of bolt that would have been originally installed in the rifle.
