The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. Ok you big time Carcano guys out there!

I think the M38 Short is one of the cleanest looking rifles out there. Were they only made in 1939 and 1940 as that is the only years I see on rifles out there. And lastly I know they were made in 7.35 and 6.5 were both calibers made for all the years they were made?

O-tay! The M38 ( 7.35) was made in 1938 - 39 and part of 40. In their finite wisdom, Italian decision makers thought they should go BACK to 6.5 caliber & the arsenals changed accordingly. Whether it was a good decision is still up for debate. ( I say they should have stayed with the 7.35 & went to a heavier bullet)

The M91-38 ( 6.5) was made in 1940 & 41 only. In 1941, the need for a longer rifle and better bayonet system became painfully obvious & short rifle production stopped.

M41 long rifle began, but that's a story for another day. SW

**edit** anyone has an M38 folding bayonet for Mark needs to first send it here so I can be sure he's getting the real-deal!!!
