This is for us newbies of the Carcano world and if I'm wrong here experts please let me know!!

I was during my extended "vacation" here have been playing with my collection and I notice that I had 2 Carcanos that were dated the same (1917) then I noticed that they were both Brescia's.

The top one is an M91 TS (Truppe Speciali) and the bottom one is an M91/28 TS. The lower one I'm assuming started out life as a M91 TS without the center barrel band and set up for the rotating mount bayonet and then was returned to the arsenal and configured to the way it is now.

The top M91 TS is still in it's original configuration and was not converted. I do not know how they decided to update one and not the other. Something to point out the lower updated rifle has a bolt that is matched to the rifle.

Just wanted to share info with the rest.

Ok so I have enough 1917 Brescia M91 TS's

Here is another one! It's the center rifle and it also is a Brescia 1917 dated M91 TS. It has a slightly different sling set up then the other M91 TS. I forgot to mention that all 3 carbines have the exact same visible markings on all the metal (except serial numbers). If the experts could help me here with why there are 3 different styles? Was it as needed or for different type of military?

My 91/28 TS (top photo) is also Brescia Lorenzotti. It looks most like your bottom T.S. It has no cartouche but the serial number on the stock and receiver match. I can't find a number on the bolt.

My stocks aren't nearly as nice as your.

Nice, but I would not worry about my nice stocks as you seem to have some rare manufacturer Carcano's like your Lorenzotti. I just looked at Stevens web site

And your Lorenzotti was only made during 1930-1931. What is the date on yours? Bolts seldom were marked to match unless they were refitted. That is why my 4 Carbines with matching bolts exist (at least that's my guess).

I will warn you the Carcano's are addicting and in most cases are inexpensive (for now). Its all in fun right?
