Well another rifle was forced upon me by Nebhogger. He made me buy this 1891 Carcano made in 1897 and is AZF marked. Now I'm not an expert on the AZF stuff but I gather these were captured sometime by the Austrians?

This rifle very likely changes hands somewhere along the Isonzo. Truly an historical artifact.

I missed out on the M.95M I had bid on & passed on this one to honor my bid... but then had the $ for 3 more Vetts. Life is a continuing series of trade-offs. SW

Nice old M91 long rifle!

You may also want to check and see if this one was rechambered to 6.5X54MS. I seem to remember some of the AZF rifles had this done. It's easy to check if you have an 6.5X54 MS round, just see if it will chamber.

Do you ever get the sense that in 20 years we'll have all just passed these same rifles around in a great big circle? Then my kids will sell one to your kids and buy one from his kids, and so on...
