Boy you did well with your 91TS set up for the modern (sort of) bayonet! If you just really hate it PLEASE let me know! Not SW he has sworn off of Italian rifles last I heard :-?

What is the date on it and does the stock have the same number on it as the serial number? Most were converted to the 91/38 configuration like this photo of one of mine. Actually here is a photo of all three M91's dated the same but in different stages of refitting.

All are Brescia's but I'm missing the bayonet lug set up like yours! Hint hint!

Just remember me! As a 1918 it is the same year as those three and yet is slightly different! Cool, if you get a chance can you email me some large photos of it!

Thanks

I find no actual production figures, but it is fairly common. It's actually a combat vet since it started out with a side mount bayonet. That was a bad design which often broke at the worst possible moment. :-o

The broken ones were refitted with a conventional bayonet latch and re-issued to units like artillery or transportation. You will see one parkerized every so often, and those were post-war police issue.

The stock cartouche shows it was refurbed for export to the US market in 1948. I can't read the arsenal above the date, but Terni did very good refurbs in my experience.

Our pal in PRK is almost right - I haven't sworn off Italian rifles, but I've tried to swear off swearing. No @#$%^&ing results that way yet. ;) :P SW
