You will see Carcanos offered with "Nazi" marks. The majority are bogus!!! Especially those being pimped by Hunter's Lodge. Phoney as slick willie's NRA membership card!

After the King of Italy surrendered in 1943, the Germans thought that an extreme breach of etiquette and set about siezing all the Italian weapons they could find. Looted armories and warehouses all over Italy.

The rifles so siezed were examined by an armorer - stamped to show inspection had taken place - and were shipped off to Germany. Many were issued to Volkssturm in the very final days of the war.

This is an M38 ( 7.35 cal) I bought for $75. The seller had not even noticed the mark - it's very small and they are usually right in front of the rear sling swivel on the bottom of the stock. They usually have the razi eagle and something like HzA/Jt3 This one was faintly stamped and the letters are almost invisible. WaA marks on Carcanos are bogus 99.999% od the time. SW

I got it like 3 years ago at a show in Cheyenne. Just your basic M38 short rifle in 7.35 cal. SW

That is a nice looking rifle and important information. I have those mystery 8mm carbines with the WAa markings and we now know the rifles were put together after the war. I have a coupla French rifles with the correct markings and even a carcano or two.
