Attention New Members and those new registering! We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7. Thanks for joining us from the administration.

This is the Carcano that started my interest in the species. I got it from a friend who picked it up in the 1960's. He just recently passed away from Cancer, and so this one has a bit of sentimental value to me.

I like it!! While a little over a half million of this model were made, only a small fraction remain. Besides combat losses, quite a few were retrofitted with a conventional bayonet mount, and many thousands were converted at the Terni arsenal into M91/28s. These conversions took place in the early 20s when Italy was too broke to make new rifles.

It is without any doubt a combat vet! One odd feature I see is that the refurb star is on the stock near the tang. Is there another on the top tang where the bolt rides?

Now to score one of the odd bayonets! The transverse type bayo is scarce and expensive... the rarest will have an anchor on the guard = navy. SW

No star on tang. I have a bayo for it as well, but no scabbard for the bayo.
