We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Stamped on one of the five sided angles of my Carcano Rifle is the number 816 or 918 depending on how you read it. I read it to be 816 which would be in the same direction as the Made in Italy stamp above it. However, I have been told that this number is 918 and reflects the year 1918 when it was manufactured. Can someone confirm this or tell me what this stamp does means. Attached is a photo, Thank you for a response. Ron

Yes, it's 1918. For some reason, Italians used this to date various rifles... but not all. You also see it on the clips - like SMI 939.

Roma only made M91 long rifles for two years - 1917 and 1918 with a total output of about a quarter million. Italy was desperate for rifles then, but production stopped with the war's end. I did see a TS with a 1922 Roma refurb cartouche recently, so the plant stayed in operation. SW

Thank you once again Nebrhogger, for your advice on how to reduce a picture size to accomodate my Avatar and also varifying the Rifle's date. I used your rank of Colonel the last time we corresponded instead of your author's name. Either way, I appreciate your help. Best Regards, Ron
