A noob registered at an Italian site to ask questions about these Ballila moschettos he found while "reconditioning an old building". The Italians went bonkers. They have consecutive serial numbers! I can't tell who made these. Not FNA, Lorenzotti or Castelli. I've seen pics of those & all were made much better than these. But still!

The party ( it's poor form to use the word Fascist on Italian sites) kept supplies of these and loaned them out to schools for parades and for drilling. Some schools had a supply, and you can tell those - the bayonet is most often missing to keep the kids from stabbing each other at recess! Which means in theory there is a supply of bayonets somewhere in Italy.

The man said he had at least 15 and maybe 20 more "in a bin". Quoting a forum regular who used an Italian expression: "I am am stabbed in the stomach!" Another regular suggested they be kept together: "What God has joined should not be separated!"

At least they were rescued before rust and mice ruined them. SW

i think i understand , most folks wish to forget the bad parts of past , but true is true , and the PC crap is really turning me off

They flat will not answer a question if the word fascist is in it. I checked with a close Italian friend & he said avoid the word. Not sure if it's illegal like swastikas are in Germany. SW

As I read the post, it looks like the noob was getting 200 EUD apiece & no argument. So by the time you figure in air freight from Italy, it would be just as cheep to keep watching the auctions.

I got lucky on mine. A fellow on another site asked about it & I gave the best answers I could. He eventually let me have it for quite a discount over the going market because he wanted it to be in a collection rather than on a dealer's shelf.

Freight from Europe isn't consistent, either. I tried to bid on a Carcano bayonet from Germany but freight was 37 Euros! Now I'm bidding on two of the same bayonet for one money & freight will set me back 14 EUD from Austria... I dunno.

The ne plus ultra with the youth carbines is the Lorenzotti in 25ACP. What a sweet little rifle! I've never seen one for sale & fear it would cost well into 4 figures. I might hit a CD for one of those!! SW

The Jr Fascists actually had bayonet practice when they became teen agers. I'm betting the younger kids wanted to show how grown up they were and ** thrust - parry - pirouette - STAB!!**
