While rooting around looking for something else, I found two project knives I started... well, a long time ago. Close to 20 years ago. I'd see the blades once in a while, but I could never find the handles.

This dagger has a spiral fluted camel bone handle. It's dense bone & supposed to resemble ivory. I messed around and fitted that, but as seen, there's still a lot of file work to be done. Turn down the pointed pommel... lacking a lathe, I think I can do that with my cheep drill press and a mill bastage file.

Butchers: Alas ! Prices are soaring and there seems no end in sight. Which is good for the investment I made so far ;)
But adding to my collection is gonna be hard. Unless I can get them right out of the woodwork ...
At the Ciney show last week we saw some (there weren't that many in acceptable condition) at 110 € without scabbard. And that's for the plain regular type ... :kap: Sometimes I'm real grateful I don't eat breakfast.
What we did see was WWII K98 bayonets adapted for the Garand rifle. They were in great condition and with eagle stamps intact at 60€. That's a real good deal but I already have 2. Now if there would have been an "Elite Diamant" amongst them I would have got it... For reference: Unaltered K98 bayonets sell for much more in worse condition. Go figure.

As mentioned, bayonets are expensive there. Mario had expressed an interest in an M1 Carbine bayonet. I didn't see one under 200. :-o

Oddly, I did score a 3rd Type Italian M38 bayonet for 50 & those bring between 100 - 200 on gunborker. SW

Yeah well, as you saw US stuff is very desirable to people over here, Italian ain't.
That's how you got good deals (and your natural charm must have helped too of course). Too Bad about those revolvers ;)
