its a Pattern 1907 , commonwealth bayo , im guessing shot of better photos and detailed info made july of 1928 , but that may well be a refurb date , GR makes it eather a 1911-1936 George V or a 1937-1952 GEORGE VI as edward VIII was only king in 1936 for a very short time , so im going with mfgr in 28 ,
it is in great condition and looks to be a keeper in my book , can you read the mfgr ?

Don, hard to make out from the photo but maker could be Wilkenson or Sanderson.

Don, SOG was selling them for $29.95. On eBay they tend to go for around $60 or a little more.

wilkinson , sanderson , and remington made the most , there were milions made - well over a million by sanderson , and well over two million by wilkinson , and most were marked "GR" ,
food for thought - most were made thru 1919 , in the 20s many went thru weedon and enfield for repairs , the spike bayo was developed as the progression of rifle occured mkV-mkVI-no4 in the mid to late 20s into the 30s untill nov 39 when the no4 mkI cruciform was accepted , at this point pretty much the ausies were producing them and the indians
the marking would be "OA" or "MA" on the ausie bayos , and the indian made would be marked "RFI" , "NWR" , MIL" , or "JU" ....
should be noted here pakistan was part of india till 1947 so theirs are considered indian production , and the indian bayos had diferent marking [ie: mkI* instead of 1907] ,

Looking at the pictures it looks like the P1907 was originally made in July 1919 (that's from the markings on the side with the Royal Cypher). It was refurbished in 1928 as indicated by the "28" on the reverse side. A large refurbishment project was undertaken betwent he wars and the date is always on the reverse side.

The crossed sabers? are probably the factory bend test inspectors mark.
