Thanks. It's a U.S. Navy guy's commemoration of the occupation of Yokosuna Naval base on home Japanese teritory. The whole framed thingy was one of those "made in the field" deals. Strictly for the unit kind of thing...I love it, and resisted paying next to nothing for it for a good five months. The small Post-card like painting of U.S. Planes fire bombing a city are Japanese propaganda...not that we didn't kill hundreds of thousands by random fire bombing of Japanese cities, we were proud of it at the time. jon |

artist has the wrong planes in his depiction , the bombing in those days was standard practice by both sides - ask londoners , it was a war , it was deadly serious , it was not a political negotiation in any way , it was meant to destroy and kill untill one side or the other sucombed , they did what had to be done and anyone sitting in a comfortable chair today that criticizes is out of line as far as im concerned sorry , didnt mean to rant , it just bugs me that todays 'compasionates' feel they know better and could have done things diferently , i dont buy it for a miniute |
