Which is a German word for hunting type knives. Got in the lot described in Something New forum and am way happy with them! Shown with 2 others that were close at hand. SW

Top - Puma. Great steel! took an edge right away and sliced leftover roast beef thin enough to pass light. 2nd - unmarked with handle cast off for left handed people. 3rd - L. Hoffritz of Schweinfurt 4th - Sawback Hubertus. The saw teeth are well & truly sharp enough to sail right through a deer pelvis. 5th - Unmarked other than 'Solingen' - where it was made. Still, very tight and sharp. 6th - Unusual maker's mark we have yet to identify. End cap shows, (unreadable) OX. Might be Fox or Inox really not enough room for the latter. Bottom - "micro-nicker" Andrey found for me. I leave it on the kitchen table as a letter opener and item of amusement for the children.
German style eagle marking on the Hoffritz blade - still looking it up.
