these are becomming almost as important[and valuable] to me , my collection , as the rifles , thank god the handguns havent become so important [oh ..yea...they ....did ......didnt they ?] but anyway im starting to see the real focus of these , so far limited by the rifles i collect , except for those french ones , and those chinese ones , and those ........ so my point is a question , what do you collect ? and why ? some i have are in an effort to have "one of each pattern/model that were made - and one of each scabord" , some are to have an "example of each variation in a long running type" , and then there is the original effort to have "one for each rifle - correct vintage" i did only once get caught up in "one of each mfgr of a series of a specific type" the P13/M17" type jumps to mind , but ive a few to go in this area so ive lost some interest [please note vickers trials bayos are hard to find] |

Don't loose interest, I would say. 8) I started off just getting one that matched the proper period of the rifle(one for EVERY rifle). Then I realized that you could, in fact, go nuts. I decided that I didn't really want to go nuts, then i narrowed down to Japanese stuff...and I went nuts. Go figure. I'm with you on the handguns thing...it just started to hapen and continues to snowball. My overall coment would be that we all start out to do one thing, but most of us, over time bend that into something else entirely. Again, Go figure.. jon |

My advice is to keep the OMG's(Oh My God). Parcel out the good finds to people who know what they are, and give away the run of the mill to new collectors. I'm a simple man though. So forget everything I say. jon |
