I have an Argentine 1891 bayonet that is in nice shape but is missing the catch parts. How hard are these to replace? Does any one have a source for the parts on hand?

Thanks

Mybusa

Not going to be easy to get those. the bayonets that were imported had the crest ground, and later several parts were imported including blades with crest on them , these are believed to have been assembled from the parts. so it might not be completely hopeless but I don't think it will be an easy task.

This bayonet has the crest on it so I think its worth the wait for the parts or a doaner blade.

I have a real nice bayonet but yes the crest is gone  its in such nice shape that I can't part it out :)

I don't know why :? :?

I 'm looking at my latest KAR98a? thinking its great to have found a cheap one with matching parts (but bubba cut stock) and wondering why also :)

I believe time will work things out and i'll find a repo stock or and original one.

With this its my fault the seller of the bayonet didn't note the missing parts but did have a photo of the area. And it did have the crest but my ground crest is in nice shape so I'll again WAIT
Thanks

Mark :( :(

so often its the tuff to find ones that are missing parts - i wish you luck , my only experience in this area was helping a friend out with a US M1 that needed the latch bits - easy fix by buying a cheap foreign made version and canabilizing it , there was a slight bit of hand fitting but it solved the problem , if it were mine and i sold it id feel compelled to reveal the rebuild , but thats just me :D

I also have one missing the press stud & lock button.

Sleazy ebayer scammed me & didn't say it was missing the catch.. needless to say, you're better off buying another bayonet than looking for the parts.. I've been looking for a long, long time.. I ended up just buying another one rather than waiting to find parts

The sad part is before I got my bayonet I had seen an auction where the seller had a damaged bayonet that would have been perfect! Oh well!
