do what you do very gently - better to have a bit of oiliness than a disintegrated leather scabord , acetone is quite harsh i think , wrap it in paper towels [to absorb the oils] put it in a black plastic bag [to absob the heat] and lay it in the hot sun for a few hours , repeat till satisfied , |

i take it by your referance to the st paul paper your in my neighborhood ? could try the oven but i hate that approach - and wives generally give you "THE LOOK" |

I could be in your neighborhood, we're in the right state for it I'm single, so I could use the oven..but I'm forgetful. I'd hate to put it in there and when I remembered about it, found a new sheath for a paring knife I can clean the blade and handle in the mean time though |

very true , i bet you dont have a paring knife that you carry in a sheath - scabord , i think the sun would be best anyway , or some other slow method , dont want to rush things as thats when damage occurs |
