Attention New Members and those new registering! We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7. Thanks for joining us from the administration.

I'm looking at an M5A1 bayo for auction, and the guy says it has AKI and US M5A1 on it, those are the only markings. Could this be a korean make? The only 2 I know for sure are US are imperial and milpar, so AKI is new to me

pete , the M5 , M5-1 , M5A1 , were made in the US by aerial , J&Dtool , imperial , milpar col , and utica ,
the first three made both , the second last only M5A1 , and the last only M5 [if you find one of the above i can tell you how they should be marked] my example is a J&D TOOL

denmark made them marked HTK M/6 , and other foreign countries made them but i have no data on others

This got me to thinking, and I took a look in the basement and found 1 lol

It's german, still in the bag with a funky M8A1 scabbard. It doesn't have the US belt attachment. The bag is marked HMAK and dated feb 1993, the bayo is only marked US M5A1 though. I suppose I should save that one though, but I think I'll look elsewhere for a US marked one.

After finding this one, it's no wonder my brother likes to sneak over when I'm not home. I don't even klnow what I'm going to find, and I live here :lol

your welcome pete - sounds like i need to arrange a visit to your basement to help you log what you have

im of the mind that having one good example will sufice me , but thats because i collect rifles - then bayos to go with them , or i collect the rifle because i found a bayo :-?

one day perhaps we can get together , id love to see your collection ,
