The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. I just got my first Garand (1943 SA) along with a cut down bayonet (6 3/4"). I would like to pick up a sheath but I am confused by all of the model numbers and versions. Can anyone simplify this for me? Thanks

The WWII era M1905 would take the M3 scabbard. The M5 and M5a1 for the Garand will also use the M8a1 scabbard.

If your bayo is an M1 cut down to that size, it was done by/for the South Koreans for their use and the M8a1 scabbard would be propper. This cut down model was not used by US troops.

The MkI is actually a version of the M3 used by the Navy for the plastic training bayonet. The mouthpiece is marked USN MKI.
