Attention New Members and those new registering! We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7. Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Been slowly collecting these over the years, nothing too spectacular, plus I was bored and needed the practice with my camera :lol

I need the practice, some of my pics turn out ok, the others are fuzzy no matter what I do.

I forgot this one. I went to sportsmansguide on my bday to buy a SVT bayo, of course they were sold out. So I was paging thru the catalog, and saw they had bulgarian WWII helmets for 14.97, so I ordered 1. I got an italian post-war helmet instead :lol

They had pics of these before and called them french M51s, which look nothing like these. I figured it was 1 I didn't have yet so I kept it, and didn't tell them, they probably would have charged more

lol, very true, when I bought the first couple, I thought I could just put them on a shelf. Now I need a whole book case :lol

I've been looking at US helmets, I've been trying to find a real WWII MP helmet, but I can't tell just by pictures what's old and what's not. Any books I find, mostly at fleabay, are astronomical in price. I just can't see paying over 75 for a book that I just need for 1 purchase

Mark Reynosa's books generally go for around $40. Unless they have taken a jump that I have not noticed. Good reference works are worth their weight in gold. There are a lot of outright fakes out there especially on ePay. I stay away from the painted helmets for that very reason. Once a repro changes hands a couple of times it always seems to become an original.

Knowledge is your best weapon.
