Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

I got this sword yestereday from the 83 yr old vet that found it in a cave on Okinawa. Most of the nickle plate is worn off the blade and it was missing the scabbard when he found it, but other than that it is a nice sword.Image

These thing's can get you confused sometimes. Police swords have five petals on the mum, army swords and calvery have 10 petals on the mum. But except for that all look pretty much alike. :roll: :oops: :( :-? :cry: :-x

From the shape of the blade it might have a relic Samurai blade that was reground and mounted in a more modern grip. This was sometimes done so an officer could carry his ancestor's blade in battle. Be worth checking out anyway.

Could it be Naval Officers sword?
Many stranded ships crews ended up pressed into service to defend the home islands.

I talked to the vet a few days ago he said the area where he found the sword was the area where the Japanese 14th Army was located.
