Wow, that brings back some memories Michael. :D
We have the Canadian Diemaco rifle now, but before that we had the FN-FAL in the Dutch Army.
Fantastic rifle.
I'd love to get that one back.
In the beginning we had the bipods too, but the Army removed them in the early 1980's.
BTW, the top bayonet isn't a Belgian one, but a Dutch one.
First link is showing the Belgian FAL bayonet.
The second one shows a picture of the Dutch one.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

martin - thank you for that info , now i have another to look for ,

i had been told by another source that the FN bayos in your belgian post were for the FN-49 , and my janzens notebook failed to mention the tube bayonet used by your country , i appreciate knowing this ,

goes to show i can learn something new every day ,

swede - dont shortsell that guy , he comes in handy sometimes - hes always got extra stuff to carry so we dont miss out on our exercise :lol

perhaps - it doesnt fit my belgian FS , but on the FAL files they are incistant its the type B for the FAL , may actuialy be both for all i know , the info on these is far more sketchy than the rifles i normaly investigate

their comments -
"On the bayonet. That is a type B which fits the early browning long flashhiders that resemble the T48's. A rare one in the states. got any more?? I have the right FH but may take a couple of days to post the picture.Ron"

more than one such post
