I hit the OVMS a couple weeks ago and found a interesting relic of the Bosnian conflict of the 90s. Its thought between 30-100 came in with scope mounts but around ten came in with the scopes attached. What I found is one with the Zrak M89 2.5x scope.

I also picked up a nice uncommon 53 dated Izhevsk SKS. However today we will focus on the Yugo 59/66. Sadly we recently went through a move to a new house and my camera is still buried away in one of the over 330 boxes the movers brought over. So until I find the camera and get some better shots I am afraid you will have to settle for the cell phone shots I took this AM. The gray bag is the scope case. I do have the documentation with the gun but it does not show up well inside and with it snowing outside and a bit blustery I am not going to take a shot of that out there. I am including a couple links with some background on these rather rare guns.

Saw scoped Mausers over there (Home Guard units had them), but no scoped SKS.

I coordinated a refugee relief project for an NGO (Medecins Sans Frontieres) over there and thenstayed on for a while to have some fun in the trenches around Mostar with my local friends.

...I spent a good bit of time all over in Slovenia....and from the Adriatic and Italy, up to (and into) Austria....even took a few train rides from Split up thru Zagreb to Ljubljana and back...and some spectacular days and night in a lodge up in the mountains of Vrsic....awesome scenery... :Dbounce:

MSF headquarters was in Split. Nice villa right on the beach. Spectacular sunsets.
Forward base was at Metkovic, up in the mountains. Like going back in time.
