I did some horse trading last week and picked up a SCAR 16S in FDE. It is practically new as the gent only put about 100 rounds through it. He had a 17S and had sold it before we did the deal, would not have minded getting that one too.

This came with a Vortex Strike Eagle Scope. It's accurate, recoil is nil and I really like it so far. I added the Inforce light and the Knights forward grip.

Anyone else step up and get one of these pricey beasts?

I don't get out much & hadn't even heard of one before. Takes AR magazines? SW

im in that same boat - i know little to nothing of these , it looks interesting and oi appreciate your fondness , i would have to shoot it to know if it was a good fit for me ,

im rather fond of the old school FN FAL myself , the one i have has seen more 22 rounds through it with the conversion kit than it has the 308 but it shoots well , ive also a fondness for browning's FN M35 hi-power , i guess im dating myself in terms of their products ,

The SCAR rifles came out in 2004, a piston driven gas system. The 16S use M-16 magazines but you need to modify Pmags if you intend to use those. The butt stock is adjustable for pull length and folds to make more compact. Neat guns but retails near $3K.

....in 2013,preppy youngest daughter-aka Princess- wanted to have her wedding in our backyard....early in the morning before everyone got dressed up and guests came,son-in-law and his guys decided they would do some pre celebratory range time and brought some of their firearms for some target shooting off the back deck (then moved out to the field because the sound reverberating off the house had oldest daughter in tears and wifey more nervous than she already was over the wedding...hee heee ...his best man just purchased a FN SCAR....I got to fire it...was impressed....pic of my humble self czechin' it out...

you have been closer to one than i have ever gotten , these days after DPMS left i see so few or these newer models [except high grade shotguns - those i get to see !] i think my son has one tho - gotta ask , maybe ill get to shoot one yet if he does ,
