Well I finally completed making my Bushmaster NOT politically correct.
I replaced the 20" H-bar with an A2 contour barrel & flash hider. I dressed it in A1 clothing as I like the feel of the original furniture better for shooting.

I guess it will now get up on it's own at night & kill :lol

Looks very good Bruce.
That flashhider looks a lot like the ones on the Canadian Diemaco we have in our Army.
We also have a different handguard and use the 30 round plastic magazines.
They perform great, but I do miss the FAL in cal. 7.62 NATO.
Somehow these rifles just felt better.

Image
Here's a picture of my Diemaco during one of our exercises.
The yellow "thing" hiding the flashhider is for shooting blanks.

Now don't be irresponsible and put that rifle on a chain so it doesn't start walking on its own. :D

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

I think it says "licensed by Colt" somewhere on this rifle.
Diemaco is now called.....surprise, surprise,......the Colt Canada Corporation.
We've got several versions of this rifle.
Over here they are designated Diemaco C7/C7A1 and C8/C8A1.
The C7 is the rifle version, the C8 the carbine version.
All A1 versions have an Elcan optical sight.

Got some pictures.

Some units in the Dutch Army are issued with the Diemaco LSW (Light Support Weapon)

Dutch Mosin,

Blank adaptors? Man, I HATED shooting blanks! The powder residue would get an M16 dirty in no time flat!

There were always some gung-ho types in training & the good plan was to let THEM shoot the blanks & make all the noise. And be at the armory trailer at 10PM still trying to get their M16 clean enough for the armorers. :?

I can readily understand why you would rather have an FAL. I sure hated to give up my M14 back in the day. A crusty old NCO in my company complained bitterly that the M16 was too @#$% flimsy to bayonet anyone! :-o

He was truly 'old school'! ;) SW

Mick,
Sorry, that’s not me in the pictures.
My hair is a “bit” greyer and I wear glasses most of the time. :lol
I’ll try and find a picture of me suitable for this forum.
Might take a while though. 8)
I’m not someone that posts pictures of himself on any site.
Nothing personal…..it’s just me.

Met vriendelijke groet,

I also like the LOP on the A1 stock. This one is the older model without butt-trap

Here's my A2 clone.... it's the only picture of it I've got, you can 'sort' of make it out from all the crap in the background.

Wecome SA58!!!!!

Isn't Martins pic an A2 with deflector machined in?

Now that I look at it again is has the A1 sight. Maybe a Canadian thing???

We need Old RSM to chime in here

I know colt did make an A1 with an Hbar, that's what this one looks like, with A2 hand guards. I had one of them in semi auto, first "expensive" rifle I ever bought, paid 775 back in '85, and only paid 558 for my HK91, now I wish I still had them both

Actually, it was just the end of the barrel that went past the front sight that made it look like an Hbar, that was mine, but they did make an Hbar A1 that they marketed as a target rifle, I think that was the Colt Delta Elite. Man, it's been to many years hehe

I may be mistaken but I thought the A1 didn't have the machined in shell deflector
