Well I finally did it! Been looking for an M1A or M14 type rifle for awhile. Looked at the prices on the Springfields and didn't like what I seen.
The day before yesterday I stopped by a local shop just to snoop around and what's the first thing I see sticking out of the used gun rack? No missing that naked barrel with the flash supressor sticking on the end.
Receiver made by Armscorp, H&R barrel, bolt and receiver group. Stainless gas tube, hinged butplate, GI 20 round magazine.
Only able to talk them down a hundred $, but less than a Springfield M1A.

Stamped: US RIFLE
7.62 MM M14 NM
ARMSCORP BALTAMORE MD

Told them I would go home and do some research on it. Went back after work yesterday, Tore it apart with the resident gunsmith, checked the headspace etc.
Did the paperwork and took it home, put on an extra sling I had laying around and promptly ordered some more magazines (Winchester, new in wrapper) from Cheaper than Dirt.

Can't wait to get out to the range.

Whooowee!!! Bring on thse Zombies...You are ready..Well wait till the extra mags come...
Armcorp makes a great receiver. Maybe in the future you can swap out the flash hider and put one on that has the bayonet lug.

Yep. Got to be able to mount a bayonet. Maybe I'll make a real one for it (16") like I did for my AR.

you did the right thing there, thats beautiful, cant get much nicer and you got a deal to boot, im real impressed with the look and the others have mentioned how well made it is. YOU DONE GOOD
