You mean like this one.

This is a buddy shooting my DS arms Fal. Ds Arms makes one of the better ones but they are expensive. They are one of my favorite rifles. I need to get
a full length one.

You wrote about the lug thingy. I think the FN49 is similar in design with a tilt to lock bolt. There is a special T shaped piece of steel that the rear of the bolt cams down into and locks the action. This piece of steel sits crossways through the receiver and can be replaced as it wears or to adjust headspace.

Gatsby,

I read the piece on the FN FAL. I thought the FN49 was the predecessor of the FN FAL and preceeded the FAL, but was too expensive to produce and the product improved version and more easily manufactured result was the FAL. I did not see much mention of it. Did I miss something or is the FAL a total departure from the FN49? Saive did develop it before and during WWII, finishing its development in England during the War.

A-Square, the sand cut bolt carriers were (don't quote me but I think) on Brit & Izzy rifles. TheFlash hider looks like a Brit L1A1 but on upside down. (Need a close up pic to see for sure) The barrel has the cut & the HG's have the groove for a bipod. I'll look to see if I have an extra one burried somewhere I can send you.
