Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

I got a close up look at, even sat in the seat and cycled the action and traversing mechanism, a USN test model of the MAXIM in 30 caliber. Not sure if it was in .30-40 or .30/03 but it predated the .30/06. The entire gun was thickly plated with brass. It was a beauty.

Though a USN model it was in a traveling US Airforce display. Probably one of the first machineguns our airforce ever got ahold of for test purposes.

They'd run out of space when setting up displays so the Maxim was setting off to the side at an ice cream parlor with no ropes or other barriers.
