ive learned quite a bit since happening upon this rifle this year , to refresh the memories this is what i bought from a good freind who bought it from the original purchaser , the story goes its a 69 , and imported early 70s and resold mid 70s , i have no reason to doubt what ive been told , my freind has been in the gun industry since those times and is a major player now , this is what i got - ive now determined these were imported vintage 1970-1979 and that they were belgian rifles made for that purpose , i now know these go $3000-3500 if correct and sold at top buck , apperently thios one fits the bill , i now know this is a FN-herstal type 3 , model 50.61 , para , long bbl , steel lower receiver , browning style long flash hider , it does not have the sear cut , and the reason imports stopped had to do with rifles that could be made FA were imported [as semi auto - but convertable] i now know there a bunch of folks that want my rifle , and im not sellin it , i did set it up for the leupold - then found these are basicly a miniute-of-man rifle and its glass was wasted on this one - so i stuck an aimpoint red dot on it and plan to sight it in this spring , i did also add the bipod which i find is not correct in spite of it being set up for it from the factory - so ill keep it for now and i like it ...... and you can see i installed a nice british L1A1 sling - ill not give that up i like it too much , |

Great pics! Reminds me I need to get working on my FAL now. I got the stock set you sent. (check your pm) The Handguards will work for me, but the buttstock is Inch and I need to get a Metric Set (apparently Ive got an Inch Upper and a Metric Lower) (aka Frankenfal) I'm waiting to pry apart my spacestock till I get either a)more ambitious or b)a buttstock removal tool. Again though, damn if that ain't a sharp rifle you have |

Loooooooking goooood Square! Gatsby, I'll dig around to see if'n I have an extra stashed somewhere. I know that there is a US made metric lower out there but to the best of my knowledge no one makes an inch pattern. Odd thing about it is if you have a metric lower then the rear & front sights won't line up properly. I think the Izzy rear sight will though. You'll have to ask MechTec for all of the particulars, he has built quite a few over the years. |

Thanks. Yeah, it's a really nice set, so I'm not planning on splitting it up. Looking into options for on how to mate it up with my rifle. I suppose I could always just get a full inch pattern rifle I mean, after-all two FALs are better that one FAL! |
