The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. In 15 days I will pick up a FN-49. It is a Century rebuild and it is in great shape. I have always wanted one. I will post pics when i get it.

I really like the FN49 - had a Columbian in 30-06. Since I"m left-handed, I liked it much better than a Garand. Looking forward to the pics. SW

I'm actually taking my Lux 30-06 out later today for it's "first Run" at Old King Cole's place. I'll let you know how big the grins get :bigrin:

If it runs & hits as well as my Egyptian, I'll be VERY pleased

Well it seemed to hit well enough, but was stove-piping badly, like a yutz I didn't have me tools to get thandguard off & adjust the gas on it.

That is a good looker! Does the mount just replace the whole top cover?

Thank you and yes the mount replaces the top cover. There is a block in the back that is held with allen screws. I hate to admit this but I have yet to take her apart. I want too but i am tired when i get home.

Who makes the mount? And when you get a chance to take it down, let me know if there is any marring of the receiver by the set screws. My 8mm is cut for the scope mount but good luck finding an affordable scope/mount combo.
