Bruce, they were all<most of them> melted down around 1995-1996 in Australia. Fewer than 2000 were imported to the U.S. Direct gas impingement means no recoil spring noise in your ear! Pretty quiet gun I'm told, I haven't shot it yet, maybe never as it's almost 95% NRA condition. I have the original mag with no markings on it. Randy
