Made a great find recently at a gun show. A Colt 1911A1 made shortly after the break out of WWII for the US. The Colt carries the cartouche of WB standing for Colonel Waldemar S. Broberg who was the Army inspector at the Colt plant from July 1,1941 to June 16, 1942. The gun was later sent to Letteskeney Ordinance depot in Chambersburg PA before being turned over to the DCM. She was shipped collect to a chap in Akron Ohio on June 20,1963. I know these details because luckily the guy saved the original shipping box. What a neat piece of American history.

A check on one of the other forums I frequent with one of the chaps who has access to Colt records tells me she was shipped on Broberg's last day at Colt, June 16, 1942 to Springfield Armory, part of a shipment of 2100 pistols.

I think you just made some keyboards short out. That still looks new.
