I was thinking of picking up a NIB Rock Island Armory 1911 GI mil spec from Bud's Gun Shop in Lexington, KY online. Hear anything good or bad about the brand or store? Best Regards, Mark |

I think I can live with the grips as new ones can be had. Bud's Gun Shop has Rock Island Armory Military Spec 1911's for $329 shipped. Hard to beat that price anywhere. Local gun store wants $467 for the same gun. Hard to buy this locally at that price. Best Regards, Mark |

I might take you up on that. Right now I'm finishing up this work week before Christmass "break". The ten hour shifts on my feet wear me out and then I get home and read books on the couch. I'm not a bright boy. The weather doesn't help either. I want to stay home and warm. Best Regards, Mark |

Mark, The grips that come with RI 1911 a very nice, smooth wood. You will want to get a set that looks more GI. |
