Reloading hotter worked. I tried 3 Titegroup loads for the 147grain bullet and a box of 135grain Wolf reloads. They all worked! I had one fail-to-extract and I think it was just a dirty chamber.
My son gave me half a box of 125grain bullets that he didn't like (I don't remember what he thought was a problem) so I reloaded with 3.9, 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2grains Titegroup (Sierra reloading manual). They all worked like a charm. No fail-to-extract. I couldn't say one was more accurate than another since the day was wet and cold, so I just burned through about 50 or so and called it a day. Most of them hit the targets with about 5 bullseyes and 3 pairs touching side by side. Looked like a double tap
I also had a Deutch Werks German Youth Rifle with a broken front sight which I fixed so that it shoots 3.5" high and 1.5 to the right. That wasn't the intention, but that's how it worked out. Don't ask me how I know, but JB Stick isn't the way to put a sight on
After I did it I realized all I had needed to do was file down the head of a 4" nail to make the dovetail, and cut the shaft down to about 3/8" and file it into a blade. Oh well, maybe next time.
