They are worth it only for an EGO!!

Its too big in the hand, likes only certain ammo to cycle it and did I mention its too big?!

It has a aura of its own but I passed on my friends many times for the above reasons (and I like 44mags!)

If you can buy one and your manhood is in question then you may need one but spend your money else wheres. Go with the baby eagle!!

Sorry to the ladies for the manhood comment :D :D

A friend has a .44 magnum Desert Eagle and I have fired it on a number of occasions. I have reasonably large hands and even I struggled a bit getting a decent grip. It does draw attention when he brings it to the range, but most of the guys I know wouldnt buy one. Its one of those handguns you would only take out to the range on the odd occasion, not an every day gun. If I won the lottery, yeah I would buy one, just for the novelty value. I have only examined a couple over the years and found them to be very sturdy handguns.

When I lived in Tenn just down the road from Kaintuck, my warehouse manager had one in 44 & I loaded up some RANK 240 grainhandloads.

We had some outdated juice in half gallon bottles & could both consistently hit same @ 100 yards. I bet groundhogs enjoyed the grape & orange-flavored kudzu after we left!

They are accurate with the right ammo - one size does NOT fit all - a little heavy to carry with a rifle all day but would settle Mr Piggy's hash in no time flat!

Given the choice between one of these and a real-deal Auto Mag... no question! Auto Mag!!! 8) SW

I guess I must not be a "real man" :D as I have a Desert Eagle MKIV in both .44 and .50 AE. And I love it! It IS large and unwieldy. So are many fine weapons, if you like dainty pistols, this ain't for you. But as a tool for dealing death, I choose the big dog. It is not a good carry, or gunfight pistol(unless its already drawn and pointed), but if you are a hunter I can recommend it. I like the .50 better, because the recoil is not much more than .44, but the bullet hits with DEVASTATING force. Any hit with a Beagle, is almost a fatal one, much like slugs. I have killed 2 deer with this pistol so far. A doe and a big buck, buck was running straight away, offering only an anus or back of the head shot. I chose head, and one handed a shot right into his brain stem at 40 yds(lucky!). Dropped instantly dead, and never even twitched. Hit the doe in the leg, and the shock of it just made her lay down and die. My friend has a .500 S&W that hammers your hand, and he can keep it, I choose the beagle hands down. Not great fun at the range, but the added adrenaline of live shooting seems to lessen the punch to the shooter. Bears, deer and pigs will all fold up like kleenex when hit by this fine Israeli weapon. I got mine for $925 with the .44 mag barrel, and $400 for the .50AE and 2 clips. If your manhood is in question, buy a harley or porsche, because they won't hurt you as often.Accurate and reliable, IMO. I'd rather have a big gun than a big hoo-haw any day of the week. 8)

well I lost the auction on it so I guess it will have to wait. I am on to another pistol. But I still love the look of the desert eagle
