the pritchard bayo - id love to have one - even one of the very nice repros recently available , very interesting peice but i doubt it was all that handy in the feild - used as the knife it may have been a bit better , do love that photo tho

BTW , gery [OLD RSM ] here is tied to the canadian museum system but ill let him explain if he desires to reveal the details ,

or.....suicide, im not thinking it was a consideration, but wouldnt you have had the knife in your left when they got close enough to be using the revolver in your right?

not saying it was useless, but questioning its practicality as a production item, i see it more as a trench configuration that may have served a limited use and constituency, but then again ...perhaps that WAS its function, i really dont know.

i do know there werent many made, that there were a bunch of very nice repros, and that a buyer should beware on this item for sure.

suposedly cut down reworked "rosalie" french bayos, wonder how many were in stores? i did look at my "rosealie" before i sold it to see if it would be easy to copy, i dont think it would well enough to meet the scrutiny but im not a machinist [to this extent] and i dont have a stockpile to convert for profit.

interesting bit of info grant, id been under the impression they had actually seen some issue, but perhaps that explains why i thought they were used [without them being issued] are they marked?

interesting info - seems every one ive seen has a brass hilt/handle and crossguard , great photos

not ordering one of those repros at that price - at least till i win the lottery :lol
