The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. it does sound liker there was fishy stuff going on , thats a real strange story on this type of item , but then there are a lot of strange stories about auctions

There are some strange people on AA, and the prices they start the auctions at for some of these dime a dozen guns is just rediculous. Some of them start the bidding at 150 for these, and almost 200 for 91/30s, but they do include a hard gun case :lol

If they chose to and THEY SHOULD!! They would sell better I think. And if the say it's required then how come all others items you buy have such small print!
