Very nice pistol! I have 3 Ruger SA pistols and they are great. To find an unaltered 3 screw that looks that nice is a great find!

I have been looking for an older Bearcat for my kids but they just don't show up and they are not C&R yet. That and no gun stores in my area my it hard to look.

If i remember correctly These were the earlier blackhawk's. They did not have the hammer blocking duhicky. You had to carry 5 rounds and an empty
cylinder. Ruger will put the hammer thingy in but this one escaped getting it done.

Going from memory the 3 screws were recalled for the addition of a different safety set up. Every Ruger I have bought has had a note in it asking for the old 3 screws to be returned for the free safety modification. But to find an un-touched one like this one in like new shape is a great find!

Yes I'm in envy.

What caliber is that one? I have a 3 screw Super Blackhawk in 44 Magnum.
I installed a Polychoke rib which is just glued on with a silicone sealant. It can be removed and re-installed with new sealant. It has a slot cut for the 4 power LIR scope I can put on it.

Is that a flat top? The first pic looks like it is. Sure looks good.

I had a Ruger single action in .41 Mag that I got from my cousin. It was made in 1969. It had the original action in it. This was the revolver that was used in a gun fight in El Monte, Calif.; I think I told that story before.

Anyway, when I sold it, it brought extra money because it was unmodified. Pete is right, in their original form these revolvers have a nice action. The modern transfer bar design (I have a couple) are pretty clunky. Ruger got that design from Harrington & Richardson, who patented it. I think Ruger paid a royalty on it for a time. It's the same transer bar safety that you find in an NEF single shot rifle or shotgun -- also clunky (I've got several). It's kinda like single-ply toilet paper -- you get used to it after while.
