A friend I hadn't seen in many years just brought over a couple of pistols he and his wife found while sorting out his deceased father in law's estate.
One is a good condition Nazi acceptance marked P-35 Browning Highpower.
The previous owner was a veteran but was posted in the Pacific Theatre so while its almost certainly a Vet bring Back its unlikely he was the Vet who captured it. Probably got it from another vet or picked it up who knows where.
The only damage to the pistol is a broken left side grip panel, the broken piece missing.
About 80% or better wartime finish all matching low numbers , untouched.
If I hadn't been a close friend of the present owner I could have picked up this one for myself for peanuts. No one he'd shown it to had spotted the NAZI markings and they'd given low values for it.
I just can't screw over a friend, no matter how much I want a particular item.
In return my friend said that if I found a buyer willing to pay a good price I could have 50% of whatever we got out of it.
PS
I'll post images tomorrow. My cheapo digital only works in a strong daylight.
Left side looks worse in strong daylight but most of that is glare.
