The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. I do online gun broker postings for my local gun shop guy. and get store credit for my part. so this is the latest fruit of my labor. it is an all original all matching 1916 Erfurt Luger with original style firing pin. the holster is a modified artillery holster converted for the standard Luger. I have always wanted a Luger and just glad I finally got one. I need to do some searching and try to find more info on it. and I need to field strip it and give it a good cleaning.

I've heard that the cause of jamms with the Luger is almost always traced to a worn mag latch or the notch for it cut in the mag.
When the original truncated cone bullet ammo was in use a bit of wear never caused much of a problem, but when the round nosed bullet became standard a worn latch would allow the mag to sit just a hair too low for proper feeding.

I used to use only SuperVel truncated cone hollow points in all my 9mm pistols and never had a jamm or misfeed of any sort.
SuperVel ammo was a bit on the hotside as well, so I guess it would cycle just about anything.

I got to fire a couple rounds from a luger this week and I will say the trigger pull is better on them than on a P 38.

Took it to the range last weekend. Not bad for a pistol that almost 100 years old. Probably won't shoot it again. I am trying to get my hands on a reblued on that had the marks machined off it. I will shoot it if I can get it.

the stocks are overrated - if you get an original - fine buy it , it will increase value , trust me i have an original for my inglis , its fun but has been to the range twice in five years ,

but dont waste cash on a repro - you will shoot it once and it will get stored , borrow one if you can - i understand the desire to try it - just not worth giving up another buy to get there
