Good afternoon,
I was able to shoot my new Russian Makarov on sunday. I have to leave it at the range until I get my permit for it, but at least I can already shoot it. And it's not like I'm defenseless at home ;-)
Aniway, I have a pile of ammo (S&B FMJ) left from when I had a PA63 so that's not a problem either. Of course it functioned flawlessly, but I was surprised by the recoil. IMHO it recoils as hard as the smaller and lighter PA63. What I'd want not is a set of rubber grips for the Mak. Could you advise me which company makes good ones? Pachmayer comes to mind, but I don't know if the have them ... I'd appreciate your suggestions.
Something else; what would a brand new Russian (factory stamp inside) brown leather military holster be worth? Comes complete with lanyard and cleaning rod/tool. I don't need it as I've got my father in law's service holster for the Mak.
I'll try to make some decent pictures next weekend.
Best Regards, A
