Well I ordered up a good to very good condition from SOG and got it today, the finish is worn, the import mark is horrible and the barrel is a smooth bore. I will be calling them in the morning and requesting a new pistol. The action is tight and for what it is the trigger is not bad. I thought I would pick one up before they disappeared like the CZ-52's. here are some picks, sorry no barrel picks.

Did the holster come with the gun? You'd hardly expect the barrel to be shot out on a police issue pistol ...

The barrel has a polygon rifling and they look like smooth bores. I see the paint is chipping on it also.

the holster came with it. I don't see any kind of rifling.

I love my CZ-82 I got from Bruce, love it love it love it. Dead accurate little bugger. I qualified for my CCW with a Sig Sauer that I carry, but had the CZ on standby if I needed during my qualification. Didn't need it that day, but I find myself reaching for the CZ lately to actually carry. :Dbounce:

Well I kept it, and got my buddys to order some, however they need to work on the grading system, they are calling these very good condition, and IMO you should have the paint intact for very good. the others showed up in similar condition. I got 2000 rds of ammo coming to feed it and my P64's

The paint is no big deal. Yes their grading system SUCKS! but you can strip it & alumahyde or duracoat it easy enough. For the quality of the piece the price is great! Go to CZ's website & look at the MSRP of the CZ83 :-o

only diferance between the 82[military/police] and the 83 commercial is the cost/condition - correct ?

the two 82s i bought from you were superb , they were so nice ive been shy about posting about them when on other sites because some of them got really badly worn finish and poorly maintained pieces , but i have yet to hear of one that shoots badly

The '83' is the current civilian version in 9mm Kurtz (.380) with the funky trigger guard.

ahhh - that's the difference , so is the barrel interchangeable ? so one could make an 82 shoot 380 ? its a 'silly millimeter shorter' to coin a phrase

Yes if you could get the .380 barrels. Not sure about what is involved with changing one out. Probably a press would be a must have.
