I have a 1898 30-40 Krag parade rifle in good condition, Chrome is on all metal except rear 1902 sight and extractor.

Bore has good rifling but is pitted and im cleaning it up before sale , should be a shooter as its not dark or counterbored.

Stock is heavily sanded but no cracks except top rear Buttplate screw area. Will need refinishing/addition of oil/stain.

Firing pin intact and action functions well. I don’t know much about these so a personal view might help to make up your mind.

I am no expert but I think that is an 1896 sight. Are you sure it is an 1898?

Did you verify serial numbers?

You might want to try gunbroker if you have no luck on the forums. do you know by chance if the chamber was drilled on this one?

Chamber is not drilled, no welding, has been fired.

Just chrome plating.
