Okay! The book is officially available! Got mine today and am WAY impressed! The two volumes cover not only weapons, but uniforms and personal effects as casual as toothpaste and lemonade mix. Several prominent collectors contributed heavily from their unbelievable collections and mannequin displays. I thought I might have separate chapters, but the items I wrote are seen in various parts of the book as relates to the topic at hand. Again, it's anything but cheep, but what a valuable resource and just plain interesting reading! The spiral binding may not be what everyone most prefers, but it is a compromise between durability and cost. A paperback spine will only support so many pages, and hard bound books cost a lot more than the price for this. As always, it's quite gratifying to see my research, note taking and typing turn into something tangible that may be of use to someone. This book is very highly recommended!! 640 pages - heavily illustrated. Unfortunately 10% or less of the pics are color plates. Again, it was a cost-saving decision. SW |
