I have two (2) M95M's that I picked up a few years ago from Century's liquidation of the old Springfield Sporters, Inc. Both were missing the extractors, as normal, but one was for most part complete and the other, well let's just say that it was one of the "U-Fix'em" rifles that CIA has been known to sell. It was, aside from missing the extractor, missing the bolt, hand guard and has a broken spring in the rear sight.

Since then, I've been able to locate:

3 new production M95M extractors ( A BIG thank you to Riceone )

Bolt & 8X57 bolt head for the rifle missing the bolt.

I was able to fashion a hand guard for the one missing the hand guard from a Yugo 24/47 hand guard. I based that on reading, and from B. Bagdonovich's book that indicated the M95M was converted based on the Yugoslav M24 and since the M24/47 is very similar, if not just an upgrade, I thought that the hand guard might work. I had to shorten it a bit, did some sanding, etc but when I compare that repro hand guard to the one on the complete rifle, other than a different color, at first you wouldn't know the difference.

I also found some 8X57 enbloc clips, which I don't know if they'll work, but I picked them up anyway.

My last project is to repair the rear sight on the one rifle. The question is this: Anyone have an idea what might work? Try an M24/47 again for a replacement sight, or at least for the spring?

I would really like to get both of these project rifles completed and tested out at the range.

The spring & leaf from an M24 mauser may work as the sights look the same as I recall(I used to have an M95/24). BTW you know the"enbloc" clip for the M95M is a permanent part of the magazine assembly & the rifle loads with Mauser M98 style clips?-TR

I think the M24/47 rear sight would be the way to go. As far as I know, they are sweated on with soft solder.

I scored an M95/24 barreled action & it took forever to get it together. By dumb luck, it had a nice bore ( not great, but nice enough to shoot) & shoots fairly well.

As hard as extractors are to find, I only shoot light cast loads in mine. Heck, I feed my Gew 88 hotter ammo! SW

I guess I'll try a M24/47 rear sight, or at the very least, a leaf spring from one and see if I can salvage what's left of the sight ladder.

I will try to keep the list informed of my progress, and hopefully to post some photo's of the finished product (Someday )
