I'd start by slugging the bore and compare that measurment to bullet diameter. Two or three thousandths can lead to poor groups. While the Hornady jacketed and Lee cast bullets are .329, it's not uncommon at all to see bores measuring .331". I had one that measured .333! Let's say you have a .331 bore and .329 bullets. One option is to buy or make cast bullets for .338 Mag. With cast, you can call Lee Precision's toll free # and order a custom bullet sizer. Get one .002" larger than the measured bore diameter of your M.95 JUst tell the receptionist what diameter you want and pay by plastic. Around $30 and takes 3 or 4 weeks. If you don't cast, buffaloarms.com sells a variety of styles in various diameters. And!! Jump right in & post away! Et2ss is another Steyr nut who may have other tips for you. SW |

Last cheap ammo I saw was the stuff SOG was selling when they first started getting the rifles in. I had got 500 rds for something like 25 per round. got some nice WW2 Nazi marked stuff from the 30's, seemed to function fine. I think Privi is also manufacturing new ammo in that cal. |
