Volley fire sight on the front band still present ( rear volley sight still there, too but no screwdriver at hand to slide it out)

The ( supposedly) Greek VVV stock mark. The jury is still out on what this actually means, but you just don't see it very often.

And a question for Comrade Fearless Leader. My spies tell me you have a Mannlicher book. Don't try to weasel out - I have really good spies!
I need to know if this is the original M.88 sight graduation plate or not. Probably the 88/90 but I'd like to check.

The best part - it has a GREAT bore!!! And I have fresh 8x50R loaded up for it! Now to lay off gunborker for a while. I can quit bidding any time I like! Really! No joke! And stuff!! SW

Here are pics of the pull-out volley fire rear sight. It slides into the rear sight proper.

I took it out last night for a good cleaning & dropped it amoung a pile of parts. Found it just now & it's in the rifle to STAY!

I'm not entirely certain of the concept involved here - looks like it would shoot way high. SW

I believe (although it's been a while) that the 88/90 sight plates can be removed. You should be able to see that they are an 'add-on' over the original ears

Took it out this afternoon to try for groups. No dice - the firing pin is broken. Rats.

I have a feeling it will be hard to find a replacement. SW

It looks like you have "MM" lightly scratched to the right of the VVV. You should take a very close look at the stock for anything more.

Is this a Bulgarian or Austro-Hungarian rifle?

best way to fix the tip is anneal tip, face off broken tip till flush then drill .125"- 187" deep with drill .002" smaller then hole in bolt face and silver solder in drill shank, then grind till you have .065-.070 protrusion.


Also, if you use volley sight setting on right side you will find you have finer ( about 1/2 value of left side) sight setting then on left side for longer distance shooting out to 500 meters..

I got a NOS firing pin from Numrich. I was amazed they sent the right one on the 1st try. SW
