Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

This was an M95, I'll call it a "short rifle" because it wasn't a Stutzen and wasn't actually a carbine. It was in 8x50R, no import marks, and had the original serial number markings on the stock, receiver and barrel. Unnumbered bolt that had been blued at some time. The stock was modifed very many years ago, with the bolt hole at the wrist neatly filled in and the front band had been modified to remove the stacking rod and reblued. Very old repair to the toe of the butt. The sights had been modifed, with a tall Marbles front sight fitted, and the rear sight ladder having the top machined off and in the flipped up position, with the lower "v" in the ladder exposed for use. Receiver date Wien 1915. No unusual markings on the metal or the wood that might indicate post-WW1 mods or use.

$120 plus tax, no I didn't buy it. Bore so-so. The sight mods were obviously done by a sportsman here, but the other mods looked much older. Stock had that dark brown look, unsanded. Handguard had last two digits of SN on left rear corner as some did. Front sight not banded, had base directly on barrel. Oh, I almost forgot. Here's a bonus. It had an original WW1 US Army sling on it dated 1918, not mint, kind of dark but serviceable. Sling swivels on bottom of stock, no provisions for side sling. Rear sling swivel weird machined gadget. Front sling swivel like a Stutzen.
